Nothando Ngwawaira is a Menswear designer / Painter, who specialises in print and textiles. The theme of the collection is Afro-Futurism, drawing ideas from Africa's history and culture as well as featuring people of the black diaspora. The element of Futurism in the work, is presented through the idea of time shifts, and movement as well histories preconceived notion of what the future would look like, which can be seen in the research imagery which references retro-futurism as well as classic futurism. The colour palette, embellishments and silhouette all coincide in order to properly marry the theme together. The collection is basically a snippet of my mind and thought as a self- proclaimed Afro-Futuristic Artist.
