Elizabeth Saltzman on London

Back to news list

This month we talk to Elizabeth Saltzman.

Who are you excited to see on the red carpet this season and why?

"If you are asking about which British designer, I am always excited to see Tom Ford, Tom Ford, Tom Ford! Love Erdem, Emilia Wickstead, Christopher Kane, L'Wren Scott…  And Stella, Stella, Stella! Oooooh, Berardi… Looking forward to seeing a Victoria Beckham dress…. And Temperley. There are so many, I could list another 40... This is so unfair!"

"If we are talking about girls, the award show season belongs to Cate Blanchett and Lupita Nyong'o… If you are talking local heroes: GO Laura Bailey! GO Alexa Chung! And then there's always those other fellow British lovelies: Kate, Poppy, Cara & Harry. Samantha Barks of course has the best waist… And hands down I have the most fun getting red carpet ready with Gwyneth Paltrow."

What makes a creative capital?

"A creative capital stems from art, music, fashion, dance and design… Coupled with individuals, eccentricity, diversity, with the brains and the balls to make it work together. Funny… London has the best of all of that, I guess we are the creative capital."

What’s your soundtrack to London Fashion Week?

"Talk about diversity! It could be anything from Motown to Pharrell to the Stones, Chrissie Hynde, Patti Smith, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Tyler, the Creator. And of course I have a weakness for Coldplay."
