I’m Qing Sang, a fashion student from Edinburgh College of Art and Donghua University. I’m constantly inspired by nature, flowing curves, abstract atmospheres and moods. Chinese traditional culture is also my inspiration. I always hope to extract the interesting parts of traditional culture and give them new life through contemporary fashion. Therefore, in my graduation collection, I successfully tried zero-waste curve cutting on a variety of silks. This is a cutting technique based on the flat cutting of traditional Chinese Hanfu clothing, whilst also innovating with curves. The concept of curves comes from the characteristics of my sketching technique: light, soft and delicate lines. At the same time, I use beading, weaving, knitting, and material manipulation to create a sensory experience for my customer to explore whilst wearing.
