My graduate collection encourages people to style with creativity, to challenge the conventional principles of wearing clothing, and ultimately, this engagement becomes part of my design process. I have a deep interest in the relationship between fashion and our surroundings, which means l care about social and environmental issues, and l believe we can use our fashion power to make a change. My collection has a focus on constraint and deconstruction, representing contrasting themes such as Hong Kong cage homes and traditional Japanese Washitsu interiors. l am trying to capture the energy floating through the living space and how it evokes both positive and negative emotions. Additionally, I have explored the relationship between clothing and the human body. The art of binding and wrapping goes well with the dislocation of panels and the beauty of volume. My collection contains a spirit of Zen and is a manifestation of oriental aesthetics in an innovative way.
