Hokey Cokey

‘Hokey Cokey’ is inspired by how kids dress themselves, playing with how they unintentionally style their outfits wearing clothes in peculiar ways, creating odd mismatching clothing combinations or dressing in mismatching styles and prints. Every piece is made in weird proportions or buttoned up ‘wrong’ to reflect the fun rule free way kids play with fashion and styling. The core of the collection is drawn from personal nostalgic memories from my own childhood, reflecting on how my sister and I used to dress ourselves and the adventures my family have had. Another influence is drawn from the drawing game of consequences which influences the mismatch and slashed style of the garments and prints.
