Sweet Tooth

Sweet Tooth is based on the two sides of the experience of femininity. One side, encapsulated by 80s prom wear, represents the demure hyper femininity expected upon us from an early age. And the other side, shown in fetish gear, represents the side of female sexuality that we are expected to hide. All of this combines with my love of sweets and using their shapes to aid blending the two concepts together. Sweet tooth is for the woman stuck in the 80s living her life in the 21st century. It’s my love letter to all the women who have impacted my life, and a testament to their femininity. By using all pink fabrics it emphasises the fetish side of the concept and plays with the idea of hyper femininity. The use of pleather and pvc plays into traditional fetish wear whereas the soft velvet adds to the gentler side of being a woman.
