Technical Sportswear designer and pattern cutter with sustainability at the core of my practice. Keen interest in outerwear and functional design. Completed a year in industry at adidas Sportswear and Saul Nash. Through elevated concepts and fabrication, I look to rethink what sportswear can be. Exploring themes around modernism and applying them to functional clothing allows me to create refined takes on classic silhouettes. My final collection, Concrete Sponges, explores lived-in Brutalism. Bold architecture populated with small inflections of humanity creating interesting juxtapositions. Applying this idea to classic Sportswear was the starting point to create a wearable “contemporary city” that mixed function with decoration. Visually implementing my concept provoked me to manipulate deadstock fabrics to produce faded uneven colours. These would be embellished with stitches and decorative textures to create a juxtaposing harmony.
