Natures Patina

Designing a considered collection began with the appreciation of the female form without sexualisation. How some women have become non-conformists by allowing our hair to grown out naturally wherever it grows. This is an adaptation of our bodies to protect against illness but, also providing insulating protection. My values as a designer are to produce handcrafted designs that show traditional skill and attention to detail but used in a contemporary way. The focus to make a ready to wear collection derived from a garment having functionality and can be integrated into an everyday wardrobe, whether this draws on aspect from utility or sportswear. It’s important to me that the garments are built to last and to be passed down with the imperfections that creates a narrative and value.
