I have created a womenswear and lifestyle brand that champions the benefits of spending time in the outdoors and green spaces. I found that gardeners would like to be able to dress nicer when gardening for various reasons – the main one being for comfort. By researching the market, I found that there is a huge gap for gardening-specific clothing that is stylish, no one is offering this. I conducted primary research and found that female gardeners would purchase clothing purely for gardening, I also found that comfort is key, with functionality and practicality following close. This is where the gardening dress and apron was born. A dress that serves a purpose, is comfortable and functional. Layered with an apron which juxtaposes the feminine dress with olive waxed cotton to give a balanced look. The apron serves as a protector to the dress, as well as offering multi-use pockets – one of the most important needs for a gardener.
