Memories of old worlds fading.

I was always fascinated by things transforming and changing within nature, culture, and people. In this collection I was thinking about capturing this melancholic feeling when we try to recall a dream or a memory and we remember only a fraction, because it has been transformed by our subconsciousness. I wanted to reflect this in my final collection through designing garments full of movement. I focused on creating otherworldly textures within knit and fluid shapes within woven fabrics. I believe that my design practice is not concentrating as much on rebelling against tailored fashion norms. Instead of purposely looking for the opposite of a particular norm, I would like to remain open in embracing them and mixing them together. In my design process I wish to have an opportunity to explore the in-between of tradition and avant-garde.
