The Wear of Work

‘The wear of work’ is the title for my graduate collection. A title and concept that came into being due to my fixation with working artists and the clothes they work in - corduroy slacks, polo neck jumper, blazer. 19 Savile Row. The new client enters the door. Height, stance, posture, knees, arm length, proportion, body size, walking style, and hand size. All taken into account before the measuring tape comes out. The work of the individual is considered when pattern cutting, and I find that a huge means of inspiration. Work being reflected through the fit, silhouette and texture of garments.
