‘Descent in to the Maenadic’

My collection is inspired by the descent into madness through intricate illustrations of rattled artists and the frenetic nightmare of horror films. The 'Final Girl' is the last one alive left to confront the killer. Each look is tied to a theme that reflects her story, via embroideries and colour; ordered from Verdigris to red and black to represent the fall into insanity. Layered organza with heavy velvets create tension in the garments between the different weights and modest versus exposed.
