Womenswear designer interested in tailoring and eveningwear with industry experience from Maria Grachvogel and Urban Zen by Donna Karan. As a designer, my work centres around flattering silhouettes that enhance the natural beauty of the female figure often incorporating print, embroidery and other textile techniques making the clothes just as intriguing as the person wearing them. 'Skin and Bones' is a womenswear collection reflecting upon the fundamentals of human form, contrasting the natural silhouette of the body with the harsh structure of medical intervention. It first looks at taking seam lines to recreate body shapes before progressing onto how full body braces are used as corrective tools for ‘imperfections’. Soft, sheer mesh juxtaposes harsh, restrictive leather leaving a contrast between the natural and artificial. Hand-made leather pieces solidify the structural presence in the collection where each piece has been cut, finished and fastened using traditional methods.
