Hoarder

CONSTANTINE CORNEY

Location: LONDON, UK
University/College: University of Westminster Specialisms: MENSWEAR / TAILORING / FABRICATION
“Hoarder” is a reflection on the life of Constantine’s grandfather during his earlier and later years of life. Starting off with his collection of amateur photographs from his time in India during World War Two. As well as looking into his later life as a hoarder, the obsessive collecting of everything, from the ordinary to the obscure. The combination of these two things has affected and inspired Constantine’s personal obsession with history, collecting and storytelling. From the hoarder’s loot found, many items were able to be reused and repurposed for his collection while clearing out his house. From deadstock fabrics from the 1930s-70s, parts of his grandpa’s military uniform and beautiful reference photography. Constantine wants the viewers of his work to look closely into the details of his collection, as like a hoarder’s home, not everything is visible at a first glance.
