Azita Thanigasalam is a London-based designer, who designs around the idea of disillusionment of one’s own life. Specialising in Menswear, leather, print, tailoring, and pattern-cutting. “Everything looks better in the mourning”, searches for a silver lining in the aftermath of world, and personal devastation, this collection aims to celebrate overcoming adversity in the face of misfortune. A combination of subtle tailoring combined with rough and structured materials; the garments are designed to encourage the wearer to continue forth. Everything looks better through the eyes of someone who has experienced loss, strengthening emotional and physical connections to what they have left. Personal experiences and beliefs drove me to create purpose from underlying sadness, and structure out of nothing but a few fabric remnants.
