Dream Land

‘Dream Land’ is a narrative of family, ​nostalgia and a longing for simplicity, set on the shores of the 1930s British Seaside. The construction and intersection of abstracted shapes on the body, draws from the work of John Piper and Picasso, popular artists in the modernist movement. This influenced the use of unconventional fabrics, using sinamay and canvas to create sculptural shapes on and away from the body. A sensitive mix of tradition and modernism, with reference to archive swimwear and family photographs, the collection embodies an abstracted, minimalist aesthetic, made for a playful protagonist.
